Introducing The Quest Bitesize

Posted on June 4, 2013 by The Quest

On Wednesday 22 May we held our first Bitesize event. The Quest Bitesize is an evening designed exclusively for The Quest graduates to come together and explore issues relevant to their journey of authenticity, reconnect with other graduates and to learn and discover new things that can facilitate their journey of self-discovery and authenticity. In a way, it is an evening that is aimed to reignite the passion that brought us together in the first place.

The first Quest Bitesize was dedicated to the theme of ‘Gay Relationships and Love’ and the intention of the evening was to host a meaningful conversation around the topic. The event was hosted at the PricewaterhouseCoopers, More London office and 30 gay men where in attendance.

The evening started with the screening of a series of short films created by Anthony Osso, a film-maker based in New York who created The Devotion Project, an award-winning series of short films exploring lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and queer (LGBTQ) couples’ experiences of love, commitment and family. The objective of the project was to document in just under 6 min, the stories of gay couples who are proof and evidence of long-term caring and loving relationships.

Following the screening, Neil Young, Ambassador of The Devotion Project in the UK, hosted a discussion, where attendees aired their views on gay relationships, along with the issues and challenges we as gay men face when it comes to having long-term relationships. Infidelity, distance and open-relationships were also discussed amongst participants and some of the attendees established a dialogue around their views on what a relationships is.

The Quest Bitesize - May 2013Following the screening and the discussion, Ernesto Moreno (host of The Quest Bitesize), interviewed Ade and Darren (founders of The Quest), about what the aim and future of The Quest. The evening closed with a performance by Anthony Hehir, actor and song-writer, who performed a song called “The Treehouse” which beautifully captures his hopes and dreams on the issue of equality and gay marriage.

The next Quest Bitesize will take place on Tuesday 23 July in the roof terrace of the newly refurbished PwC offices at Embankment Place. The guest of the evening will be Andy Woodfield, partner a PwC, who will facilitate a workshop called ‘Genius, Power, Dreams‘, a space that allows us to explore our talents and strengths, to help us live more authentic lives. The session is only open to graduates of The Quest, for more information and to book your place click here.
