My journey so far…
Born in London in 1968, I spent my late childhood and adolescence in Nigeria. I left home at 19 to return to London and spent many years searching for ways of fixing my sense of ‘I am not worthy’ and ‘not good enough’. After a futile search, in areas that included career, sex, relationships, money, travel and religion/spirituality, I came to understand that I had to unlearn everything I had come to believe about myself and start the process of grieving, self-parenting and loving myself unconditionally. My life experience to date provides a platform for me to engage with others who might have had (or still have) any limiting beliefs and survival strategies that prevents them from showing up wholeheartedly in their own lives.
My colleagues would describe me as… A paradox. Sometimes a bit too intense and yet, sometimes playful. Sometimes, too practical and yet, sometimes dreamy with my head stuck in the clouds. Sometimes, great eye for detail and yet, sometime I miss the obvious.
The Quest has enabled me…
To continually meet an amazing group of gay men who make me realize that we all yearn for authentic and meaningful connections with others.
What makes your approach different
I have always been curious and interested in what lies beneath the façade of everything, so I will always keep digging in order to get to the Essence; once found I then focus on bringing that to the surface and integrating the wisdom into day-to-day living.
To me, community is…
About embracing our otherness and oneness.
My motto for life…
Life is either a daring adventure or nothing – Helen Keller
